Hickory Nut Inn: Reviews & Ratings
We stop here every year when I come to Tionesta for my best friends family girls weekend. I love the food and every one is do friendly! Love the Hickory Nut!
If you can tolerate the smoke, it's alright. We did not eat here. Just stopped for a drink. People seemed nice and friendly. Bathrooms were poor though, toilets didn't flush, and tp was not stocked. Old school towel on a roll that everyone touches to dry your hands!
We eat out quite a bit and like the out of the way places. Hickory Nut was a absolutely fantastic experience . Food was awesome and reasonably priced. Wendy our server , Bartender and cook made us feel at home. We highly recommend this place.
All we had was onion rings and a few drinks. But barkeep was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. You could tell they take pride in clean grease and keeping up with the place. I highly recommend it.
Great food you will not leave hungry. The staff are fun professional and timely! The atmosphere is quite enjoyable. Great place to hang out with friends or to make new ones! Stop in for food, drink, music, shuffleboard, gaming machines, or even some television. A classic place that's been owned by Al for 40 + years. Stop by and get a little Nutty!!
Not a lot of options in the area, but if you want to eat out, Hickory Nut Inn isn't a bad choice. Cheap food, tastes alright, and excellent service. My only gripe is the drab atmosphere. Seriously in need of some TLC; barely functional speakers and the place really just needs a fresh interior look. Don't let that sway you from a cheap meal here though. I would personally return for another meal.
Good thing they warn service may be slow. They say due to small kitchen and everything cooked from scratch, nothing preheated. But also, people that came in AFTER us, got their food FIRST. Fish basket was good. Chicken basket-chicken over done, extra crispy.
Awesome smoky old dive bar, just as you would expect. Regulars and bartender were fun and friendly. Beer selection not great but again, dive bar in a camp area. I wouldn't expect craft beers. Had a lot of fun here.
